Hello!
Can you believe it's almost summer?
As we emerge from the pandemic with a renewed sense of hope and excitement, we'd like to share some of the great things we've got in store this month and beyond.
We recently adopted two blocks near our office on N. Maryland Ave. through Adopt One Block, a grass roots non-profit that combats litter in Portland. It's a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and has inspired us to expand our reach even further. This month we'll be hosting a donation drive with Sugar Street Bakery for homeless individuals in support of Transition Projects and volunteering at the upcoming SOLVE Pick it Up Portland event downtown. With all of us working together, we hope to make Portland a cleaner and happier place.
As summer takes shape this month we're also focusing on plants. Check out our latest Home Happy Hour video from Pistils Nursery and the local businesses I've highlighted below to learn all about indoor and outdoor plants and how they benefit our mental and physical well-being.
It's a joy to be able to gather again with friends and loved ones, so light up the barbeque, take a walk downtown, and enjoy everything the summer -- and our city -- has to offer!
Take Care,
Paris Group Realty, LLC

SOLVE
Simply put, SOLVE is a local non-profit organization doing amazing things. Founded in 1969, they are dedicated to making Oregon a cleaner and healthier place for all. Throughout the last year, their work in Portland has created a sense of uplift and camaraderie as community members joined forces to make the downtown area a safe and welcoming place to work, live, and play. SOLVE’s monthly Downtown Portland Cleanup Days have engaged more than 2,500 volunteers who have collected over 27,000 pounds of litter from Portland’s sidewalks, business fronts, and green spaces. It is their mission to provide the tools and training to empower anyone who wants to give back to their community through the simple act of picking up litter.

June Focus: All About Plants
|
|
|
This month we're focusing on plants: how to care for them and how they add value to our lives.
Plants enhance our lives, both mentally and physically. They make our surroundings more pleasant, and they make us feel calmer. Interior plants have been associated with reduced stress, increased pain tolerance, and improved productivity. Physically, they contribute to cleaner, healthier air for us to breathe, thus improving our well-being and comfort.
We love to support local whenever we can, so I'd like to share three of our favorite locally-owned and operated garden stores around the city. They’re perfect for buying indoor and outdoor plants, as well as yard, garden, and patio accessories to help get you prepared for the summer!

Pistils Nursery
Founded in 2001, Pistils Nursery is a business that really reflects our city's vibe. With two brick and mortar locations in Portland, they are described as "sanctuaries" and "oases," and are a treasure trove of interior plants, pottery, and more.
We recently filmed our Home Happy Hour video, Five Great Indoor Plants for Your Home, at Pistils' flagship store on N. Mississippi Ave. Their tagline is accurate: It's not just a nursery, it's an experience. As you walk into Pistils, you're immersed in the wonderful earthy smells and sights of fresh, lush greenery. Check out the video here to learn about five indoor plants that are perfect for beginners.

Al’s Garden & Home
Al’s Garden & Home didn’t start out selling plants. In fact, in 1948 Al & Ann Bigej opened up what was then known as Al’s Fruit Stand off of HWY 99E in Woodburn. Over the years, the business has grown into what it is today. A multi-location grower and seller of beautiful annuals & perennials, fountains, pottery, garden supplies, patio furniture, and high-end gifts. They truly have it all! Log on to Al’s for growing guides, tips & inspiration, and online shopping, or check out their locations in Sherwood, Wilsonville, Woodburn or Gresham.

Portland Nursery has been an urban oasis for decades, providing the city with the resources to grow their gardens, and beautify their yards and patios. Their website is packed with helpful information for choosing the right plants for your space, providing garden solutions, and they even offer a fee-based custom plant planning option.
